Brittyn Coleman, MS, RDN/LD, CLT
Hello! My name is Brittyn & I'm a pediatric dietitian based in San Francisco, CA.
My heart for ASD and nutrition started almost 20 years ago after having a brother diagnosed on the ASD spectrum. Growing up with a brother with ASD taught me so much about how these kids operate and behave. As I grew older and grew a passion for nutrition, I realized how much overlap there is between the two. During my undergrad program I majored in Nutritional Sciences and became a board certified Registered Dietitian. During graduate school I specialized in autism spectrum disorders and led a research study for my master’s thesis about food aversions and nutrient intake in kids with ASD. I have worked in interdisciplinary clinics for kids with a wide variety of developmental disabilities, but my heart always stayed with ASD.
There are very few dietitians specializing in ASD across the country, which makes accessibility extremely low. I felt led to begin my own telemedicine (telenutrition) practice for kids with ASD to increase the reach of nutrition therapy and nutrition education for families and individuals affected by ASD. I truly value the relationships I build with my clients and their parents and am blessed to be able to work in a profession where I can apply my passion.
